Bavaria in CEE
Bavaria lies in the immediate vicinity of Central and Eastern Europe (CEE). Major highways and railway routes from Western Europe pass through Bavaria to this region. Over 500 flights take off each week from Munich and Nuremberg Airports bound for destinations in Central and Eastern Europe. Nearly all the capitals can be reached within two hours flying time by daily direct services.
Bavaria has played a major part in building up and developing German business relations with the states of Central and Eastern Europe, and over the past few years has established itself as a turnstile between East and West. The countries of Central and Eastern Europe are already well-known for their exceptional business momentum. International framework conditions can be expected to stabilize, and this together with the reforms associated with joining the EU promise further high growth rates for the future as well.
The Bavarian region has a long tradition of very good and close relations with Central and Eastern Europe. The Bavarian State Government has representative offices in Budapest, Bucharest, Kiev, Moscow and Sofia, which maintain contact with important agencies in the host countries and serve as contact partners on the spot for Bavarian companies based there.
Intensive relations exist between Bavaria and the countries of Central and Eastern Europe in a wide range of different fields. You, too, can take advantage of these and gain access to the dynamically expanding markets of the accession countries!
